“Like a lamp in a windless place, the steady mind does not flicker.”

Bhagavad Gita 6.19
In plain terms

A single image holds the whole chapter on meditation: a lamp flame in a room without wind, upright and unwavering. That is the settled mind, and everyone has seen one, so everyone knows the target.

The image is kind, too. It suggests the flicker comes from the wind and never from a fault in the flame; quieten the room and the steadiness is already there.
